- Video is about 4 minutes long
Thank you so much for tuning into my video! Not bad for a first attempt, right? Let me know what you think in the comments 🙂
Now getting back on topic: Omega 3s. We all have heard how great omega 3s are for our health, particularly our hearts and brain. Did you know that these vitamins also contributed to eye health? I did not know that, and considering my eyesight and astigmatism, I probably should have been invested a long time ago. Several studies suggest omega-3 fatty acids help protect adult eyes from macular degeneration and dry eye syndrome.
I can admit that I never took Omega 3s daily until I started dating Greg; he is very diligent about keeping up with his vitamins. I used to assume that I got everything I needed from my shake every morning. Well, let’s be honest, almost every morning 🙂 Shakeology is all plant-based so it makes sense that it would not have Omega 3 nutrients, which primarily come from fish. Olive oil and walnuts are other sources for omega 3s but neither are in Shakeology.
Monthly Omega 3 supplements (burp-free) can run anywhere from $15 to $30 depending on the grade and you would have to swallow 2-3 tablets depending on the dosage. I’m not a fan of taking more tablets than are absolutely necessary, and trust me, those fish oil tablets can be pretty big and hard to swallow. Or… I can just take a sweet, smoothie, tablespoon of Omega 3s and not worry about swallowing capsules or having that fish burp that everyone cringes away from. I have yet to try the Lime Sorbet flavor that Melaleuca offers in their Omega 3 smoothie supplement, but I’m not a huge lime fan so you probably will not hear directly from me how that one tastes. The Peach Mango is definitely a GO for my tastebuds though 🙂
Until next time, have a beautifully blessed day!
